LIFE Clinomics will obtain the following results:

  • Drafting of 3 detailed studies on the impact of climate change, one in each of the territories involved, so that each study might be representative of 3 different types of territories, with its own physical and socioeconomic features.
  • Drafting of 3 detailed diagnosis on the social organization, one for each territory, of each of the socioeconomic sectors: business, workers and farmers (includes forestry sector). There will be a specific minor chapter on fisheries.
  • Creation of 3 territorial platforms and 3 sector platforms to organize the social response to face climate change impacts in a participative way. Sector platforms will have a specific implementation in each territory.
  • To draft 3 intervention strategies and 3 action plans to adapt to climate change that will integrate, in one document, the territorial and economic approaches.
  • To carry out 6 measures that adapt existing infrastructures or create new ones, 2 in each territory, as pilot demonstration measures.
  • To organize 10 training courses for the economic sectors (public workers, farmers, private sector workers and entrepreneurs) and several sectorial workshops (tourism, agriculture and forests). We expect to reach 900 participants.
  • To develop capacity building of 75 European stakeholders from the Mediterranean Area, 25 per each social sector, so that they can replicate the model.
  • To inform and explain the effects of climate change and what is adaptation to 12% of the employed population in the selected territories (corresponding to the half of the employed population of the selected sectors).
  • Participation and dissemination in 24 congresses, seminars, workshops, or other events: 1 per partner per year, and organization of 12 sector specific sessions (farmers, workers and businessmen).
  • To explain LIFE CLINOMICS in 2 editions of the National Congress on Environment (CONAMA) and in one edition of the Local National Environment Congress. The target audience might be 15,000 people, and we expect to have direct contacts with more than 150 Spanish and Latin American stakeholders.
  • To inform MAYORS ADAPT participants, 130 municipalities.
  • To create and feed an indicator system on climate change adaptation in each territory.
  • To promote the involvement of 20 municipalities into Mayors Adapt initiative.
